Coffee & Conversation Part 3 - Rwanda

The third session of our Virtual Coffee & Conversations series held on May 27th focused on Spark’s program in Rwanda, featuring a member of the Government of Rwanda and two Spark staff focused on Rwanda program scale.

In 2017, the Government of Rwanda partnered with Spark to integrate our process into the national government frameworks, improve the reach of the joint program, and scale the village planning process nationally. The Government of Rwanda and Spark have now worked with almost two hundred villages across the country, with plans for replication across the country.

This virtual event discussed this program with Prosper Mulindwa - the Vice Mayor for Economic Development of the Rulindo District, where we are currently implementing our program - as well as Gilbert Nsabimana and Rachel Mugwaneza, who are leading the Spark Rwanda program. This team discussed the progress of these projects, how COVID-19 has impacted communities in Rwanda, and how the program is being adapted to this new situation.

Check back for more information about how you can join Spark and our supporters in future sessions!
