About
Spark supports communities facing poverty to take action. Since 2010, it has partnered with over 180 communities across Rwanda, Uganda, Burundi, Ghana, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, bringing them together to choose their priorities and implement change. Spark's community-driven model of development combines capacity building with a micro-grant. Its partner communities act as the main decision makers at every step of the process, creating a new paradigm for development in which communities determine the solutions to their needs. In doing so, Spark's model promotes gender equity, provides a platform for authentic, local development, and promises a sustainable solution to effective poverty alleviation.
Our Mission
Spark enables communities to design and launch their own social impact projects.
Our Vision
A world where everybody lives with dignity and determines their own positive future.
