Country of Operation: Ghana
Description: Villages affected by mining companies seeking to illegally take their land need a strong mobilizing platform, and an attractive source of income that will provide an alternative to selling their land. A network of legal empowerment organizations in West Africa who provide legal representation for communities negatively affected by extractive mining companies are piloting the FCAP to increase local village level community capacity to improve advocacy and provide an alternative source of development financing.

Description: The Community Development Centre (CDC) founders envisioned an organization that acts as a shelter of hope to communities in need, focusing on community development and working to inform stakeholders at regional and international levels of community development needs and situations of the disadvantaged rural and urban, women, children, youth and men. Since founding in 2015, CDC has rapidly grown into an international network with a presence in South Sudan, Uganda and is now expanding to the Democratic Republic of Congo, impacting lives through community-centered programs, one community at a time
Country of Operation: Malawi
Description: Foundation for Community and Capacity Development (FOCCAD) is a local non-governmental organization whose head office is located in Nkhotakota. They deliver grassroots programs in some of the most hard to reach and under-served areas targeting vulnerable young people, adolescents, and children, especially young women. Leveraging the impact of all their programs and projects, they are creating a network of young leaders and supporting them to progress in their careers and be champions of youth-led development.
Country of Operation: Burundi
Description: FVS Amade, one of the largest non-profits in the country, has been supporting community groups to adopt and care for orphans and vulnerable children. Solidarity groups contribute to rotating group loans to be used to invest in small businesses, as well as pay for the children's school fees and other essential needs. Spark partnered with FVS-Amade in 2016 and today twenty communities are going through the FCAP process in the southern provinces of Makamba and Bururi.
Country of Operation: Rwanda
Description: The Government of Rwanda is integrating the FCAP into the design and implement a national decentralization strategy to boost citizen engagement across the country. Over the next decade, a new role in local government for a ‘youth facilitator’ will open across Rwanda. Each youth leader will run the FCAP on an annual basis in every one of the 14,000 villages across the country, taxpayer dollars will be allocated back to the village level and women will participate in consequential decisions in their villages. The program will increase the pace at which civic engagement, collective action, and economic well-being progress.

Description: Shaping Our Future Foundation (SOFF) is a registered non-profit organisation, founded by the First Lady of the Republic of Malawi, Her Excellency Madam Monica Chakwera. The foundation aims to promote holistic development of the village girl and street child. Registered in the year 2020, SOFF works with the Government of Malawi,International and local NGOs, Community structures, women, girls and individuals who share the vision of an inclusive and prosperous Malawi.

Description: The Village Development Fund (VDF) was established in 2004 as a national non-governmental organization by a group of professional Liberians eager to contribute to the reconstruction and development of their country just emerging from war. They employ development education approaches to grassroots empowerment aiming to strengthen the critical capacities of marginalized communities and transform their lives; organize community based organizations of the poor and marginalized communities for development networking and establish village development trust funds.
